The Caldy Society was established in
1985 'to promote the general well-being of the inhabitants and
the area of the village of Caldy' on the Wirral.
Caldy is on the west side of the Wirral peninsula and is developed
around the old village and manor which dates from the late 17th
century.
To the north west, the village is bounded by the National Trust
property known as Caldy Hill whilst the Dee estuary marks the
western boundary of Caldy with more modern executive homes
fringing the golf course.
The majority of the village was designated a conservation area in
October 1974 and only primarily residential use is permitted.
One
of the chief objectives of the The Caldy
Society is to promote high standards of
planning and
architecture in the area.
